St. Anne Catholic School

Why Should You Send Your Child To St. Anne Catholic School?

Why A Catholic Education?

As Catholic parents, when you baptized your children, you made a promise to raise your children in the Childrenpractice of the faith by loving God and our neighbor. By this commitment, you are the first teacher of your child in the faith. However, when you send your children to school, the teachers begin to have more influence over your child's education than you. Therefore, it is important to choose your school wisely. What values do you want your child to learn? How will you teach your child the faith? Will it be done through school? A Catholic school such as St. Anne's can help you teach your son or daughter not only the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic, but also about the faith. What Are Our Bishop's Saying?

U.S. Bishop's DocumentIn the 2005 document, "Renewing Our Commitment to Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools in the Third Millennium," the U.S. Bishops renewed their commitment and challenged all Catholic schools to continue the work to evangelize our culture. They see Catholic elementary schools as critical to this task. Recognizing the sacrifice that parents, grandparents, and family in general have to make to send their children to a Catholic school, they further re-stated four goals:

• Catholic schools will continue to provide a Gospel-based education of the highest quality.

• Catholic schools will be available, accessible, and affordable.

• The bishops will launch initiatives in both the private and public sectors to secure
financial assistance for parents, the primary educators of their children, so that they
can better exercise their right to choose the best schools for their children.

• Catholic schools will be staffed by highly qualified administrators and teachers who
would receive just wages and benefits, as we expressed in our pastoral letter Economic Justice for All.

Philosophy

Recognizing that parents are the primary educators of their children St. Anne Catholic School provides students, their families, and the staff with the opportunity to grow to their fullest potential spiritually, intellectually, and socially. St.Anne's goal is to provide a learning atmosphere in which every student's unique potential may be fully developed. We will strive to develop the necessary academic skill for our students to become positively contributing members of society. Our curriculum is approached from a values orientation, subsequently enhancing our children's understanding of their world.
Our values have their foundation in Christ's teachings of peace, justice, and love for others and ourselves. Students, parents, and staff form a community that fosters our values through active participation, promoting quality education, and spiritual growth.
